The Beginnings of Summer

So the days of summer have just begun... FINALLY! It's been difficult to let my girls go to school, even for just a couple of hours, I really do enjoy having them around. Though they are getting to the stage of life where everything is "not fair", and they fight with each other incessantly, and I'd rather poke my eyeballs out with a rusty wire than to listen to them whine most times, it's still nice to have them home.

I have had my girls in bad public swimming lessons the last two summers and honestly the public lessons did more damage than good. Every time we would go swimming, they got progressively worse, to a point where they were down right afraid to go into the water past their little tummies. Other kids their age were diving right in and at least trying to swim... my kids? No way!, they were the ones sitting on the swim steps watching the other kids having an enjoyable swimming experience.
So what was a mother to do? Try private swimming lessons! I found out about a woman in Orem through a friend of mine who's kids take her swimming lessons every time they're in town from Colorado. These MAGIC lessons are only 10 minutes long per child, four days a week for 3 weeks and then you can extend if you feel it's necessary after the 3 weeks.
I was sold the very first time we went... I could not believe what I was witnessing, MY girls with their faces and heads submerged in the water... what the? Her technique is a survival technique, where floating on your back is the "safe spot", then rolling from your back to your stomach with "sword fish" arms and your face in the water looking straight down seems to be the magic formula. All I know is that it has worked wonders for Ella and Claire.

-k- seriously? I swear this little girl came into our life just to keep us laughing.

Breathe Ella! Tee Hee!

Look at these rug rats. Ellas dirty sweat bottoms are awesome!

Katie Greenwood Bridals

Can you say STUNNING BRIDE? Katie looked absolutely amazing for her bridal shoot. She had described her dress to me and sent me an e-mail pic of the dress but once she had it on she was radiant and she totally made the dress how it was suppose to look on a bride. Katie was so great to work with, she would do anything I would ask her to do, even if it meant getting her dress a little dirty... gotta love that! When we did this shoot, the wind was out of control. By the time we got to Memory Grove to finish up the shoot, all the brides (I think 6 total) were RUNNING as fast as they could out of the park because it started raining, but not Katie, she was running the opposite direction... I mean what could a little rain and wind do to dampen her spirits? Not a thing! I adore you Katie.

The Wilson Family

Erin Wilson (the striking blonde on the bottom left of the first photo), contacted me to do their family portrait. She was referred to me by Nicole Hill of a little sussy who is soooo incredibly talented at photography herself. These guys were AWESOME!!!! Such a fun, loving family... and most of all willing to do anything I asked them to do. Erin did the girls flawless makeup and hair... I had to do zip, zero retouching work, so thanks Erin you made my job that much easier. Nicole, if you read this, thank you for all the referrals, you're wonderful... we need to meet!
Enjoy.

Vonn and Katie Wedding

Pink, pink, pink, pink, pink, ooohhhhhh lovely pink! Katie picked the perfect day to compliment her wedding colors and my logo too ;-) This day was so incredibly pretty with blue skies, pink blossoms, tulips and oddly enough... no wind. These two were so happy, happiness just radiated off them and made for some pretty great photos. Their wedding dinner was filled with all their loved ones and it seemed that everyone had a great time.
A special thanks to Katies mom Ann for helping with the dress, hanging out, and buying lunch for me... you were great!
