PRINCESS CLAIRE BO

My little princess. Claire has a "thing" for my makeup recently, it's probably because MAC has about the coolest colors available and although I don't wear 90% of the eye shadows I buy, I sure like to look at them and so does this little girl. I have the shadows that are straight pigments so you can use them as blush, lipstick, eye shadow, etc. the color is fantastic, super rich and lush. Well Claire wanted to wear the pink pigment yesterday so I put a little on to appease her. Today she wanted the strong, green glitter shadow, so I went all out on her. Then she wanted her princess dress on... do I her camera clicks in the future? You bet I do. I pulled out the camera and placed her on Ellas bed. With beautiful natural light coming in through the windows we had our little photo shoot. Claire is our little "Lumpy Bird", "Billy Goat", and "Stink Butt". Her real name is Claire Victoria Benson but for some reason we called her Claire Belle when she was born. Ella couldn't say "Belle" at the time so it came out as "Bo" and it has stuck three years later... that's who she is. Simply Adorable.

KIMS BRIDALS

"Forget your troubles and just get happy
Ya better chase your cares away!!"... la, la, duuubbi, duuubbi, duuubah, hey! Ah man Kim was such a trooper on this 15 degree bridal day. I mean just look how happy she looks and is! You would never think it was such a cold and bitter day, but look how perfect her bridals turned out to be. We made sure she was as comfortable as possible. I brought a blanket to wrap her up in between locations, I also brought her some hand warmers to hold, but the genius idea of the day was to bring a hand held propane heater... I don't know if it was Kims or her friend Amys. Anyway Kim you look awesome, I hope you've thawed.

TJ and JESSIE Engagements

TJ and Jessie are an amazing couple. These guys are my idols, seriously. Jessie is in medical school for family medicine and will soon be doing her residency. TJ is going for a PHD in glaciology, uh huh. They ski together, hike together, sea kyack together, travel the world together, and I am lucky enough to have photographed them their short time here in Park City over the holidays (TJs family has a cabin in Deer Valley). They will be getting married in June at Alta and again I get to photograph it. They reside in Minnesota right now but will be moving depending on her residency and where he gets accepted for his PHD work (they are hoping it's in the same state). The day we did their engagements is was coming down hard (Jan 4th) but they just bundled up in their snow gear and we "played" in the snow. After their session I had to drive to Driggs, Idaho for our family ski vacation and the weather was so incredibly bad I15 was shut down for 2 hours, we finally made it to our destination at 4:00 a.m. bloody lips and all (when I get nervous I insesently pick my lips) If you want to check out there adventurous life go to their WEDDING SITE

I know they're out of focus on this one, but I love it, sooooo

LUCAS AND MARCELLA ENGAGEMENTS

Marcella and Lucas (which is one of my all time favorite boy names) are the most handsome couple. It went so quick, I hardly had to pose them. We had to re-schedule these engagements because they, like me, wrecked both their cars too. Which by the way, they totaled ours out and we got money back... whooo hoooo. So now I am in a dilema on which car to buy... Mini Van? ughhhh. Not Mini Van? I love everything about them, especially the convenience factor but gosh dang it all, from an aesthetic point of view (remember I am an artist) they are HORRID! Also they are great on gas and I am a mom that will be doing the whole car pooling thing. I want something with bucket seats so I am looking into either a Yukon or a Mini Van. A Yukon is WAY too big for me, I am pretty short and I don't want to have to yank my kids arms off lifting them up, it just seems like it would be a pain for a short lady like myself. Arrrgghhhh what to do? Anyone?

NEIL AND KATE

Seriously, this was one of the funnest (funnest, is that a word?) weddings I've ever done. When I was at BYU, I had to do a cummunications class for my major and one of the classes I could take to fill the spot was a Newspaper photo class for the Daily Universe. My professor happened to be the head honcho over the Daily Universe at the time, Jim Kelly. All I can say is he was an amazing guy and still is! Sooo good natured and the thing I remember most about him is that he was honest, down to earth, had a broad point of view, always wore a bow tie, and raved and talked about his family whenever he got the chance. You could really tell he loved them more than anything. He has been doing photography and newspaper stuff for a looooong time so I was honored when he asked me to shoot his first daughters wedding and then again for Kate. Now Kate and Neil are really amazing people... quite the activists you could say with a love and laugh for life. They decided to do a masquerad for their reception and 90% of the people that showed up came ready for the ball. So fun. Enjoy.
